Zen Meditation Group Maidstone Kent
We are a small group of students under the guidance of Barbara Hussong
We meet once a month on a Saturday morning at 10 am - 12 noon in Maidstone, off Queen's Road, ME16.
Please check for current dates.
Our sessions are made up of silent sitting meditation (zazen), movement practice, walking meditation, a talk on a Buddhist theme with time for questions and sharing about your experience at the end.
Beginners are welcome and will receive full meditation instructions. Please wear comfortable clothes.
Following a Saturday morning session, you are welcome to continue practising by joining us weekly for zazen on Thursday mornings at 7.30 - 9 am online via Zoom, where we sit two periods of zazen with movement practice in between.

In studying ourselves we find the harmony that is our total existence. We do not make this harmony. We do not achieve it or gain it. It is there - all the time. Here we are - in the midst of this perfect way - and our practice is...simply to realize it. And then to actualize it in our everyday life...

Zen Meditation Group Maidstone
Barbara Hussong is a senior student of Genno Roshi, head of the
Dana Sangha in Paris
in the Soto Zen tradition, which is part of the White Plum lineage.
Barbara has also been a student of the late Taizan Maezumi Roshi
and Genpo Roshi with whom she started her training in 1988 before becoming a student of Genno Roshi in the mid nineties.
In July 2014 Genno Roshi gave Barbara the formal authorisation to lead meditation groups in recognition of the depth of her understanding and the length of her enduring practice.
